Southern Lights adds it to Knoxville and East Tennessee homes during the same install as the roofline, so the front of the house reads as one design instead of a single glowing edge. Driveway C9 lights go in on commercial-grade lawn stakes and trace the edge of the drive. Trees and shrubs are wrapped, and columns are lit so an entry stands out from the street. Like the roofline, it is exterior work, done in one day, and you do not need to be home. It comes down with the rest of the display by the end of January and goes into secure storage for next year. Tell us what you want lit and we will fit it to the home.

Columns and porch entries are where guests look first. We wrap and light them so the front door becomes the focal point of the display.

How it works

From quote to takedown

Decorative lighting rides along with your roofline install, so there is one install day and one takedown. The full process is on our how it works page.

Tell us what to light

Get a quote and tell us which driveway, trees, shrubs or columns you want included.
Book your date

A 50% deposit on any major credit or debit card holds your install, usually in October or November. Book early, the season gets busy.
One install day

Decorative lighting goes up the same day as your roofline. It is exterior work and you do not need to be home.
Takedown and storage

Takedowns run by zone, one day per home, typically finished by the end of January. Everything goes into secure storage for next year.

What is included in decorative outdoor lighting?

Decorative outdoor lighting in Knoxville covers the pieces beyond your roofline that you choose, such as driveway lights, wrapped trees and shrubs, and lit columns. The lights are custom-fit to your home, installed on your install day and removed at takedown. If any lights stop working during the season, minor maintenance is done at no charge.

Can you light my driveway?

Yes, we light driveways for Knoxville and East Tennessee homes. We use C9 lights on commercial-grade lawn stakes, set along the edge of the drive so they line up with the rest of your display. Tell us which sections of driveway or walkway you want lit when you request your quote.

Do I need power outlets for decorative lighting?

Ask us. Where the power comes from depends on your home and on which areas you want lit, and we will talk through power on your quote. Share what you have in mind for the driveway, trees or columns, and we will walk through the options with you for your Knoxville property.

When is decorative lighting installed and taken down?

Decorative outdoor lighting is installed with your roofline, usually in October or November, and you can request a day if it is open. Installation takes one day and you do not need to be home. Takedowns run by zone, take one day per home, and are typically all finished by the end of January.
